Apfelsorte Gloster von Elbe-Obst aus dem Alten Land

Gloster

Did you know that the Gloster comes directly from the Alte Land and then was spread in western Europe?

Sweet

Sour

The Gloster was crossed from Glockenapfel and Richared Delicious in Jork in the Alte Land in 1951. Since 1969 it has been sold on the Lower Elbe and later throughout Western Europe. It has a beautiful medium to large fruit. The shape of the apple is often a little coarse-edged, raised and bell-shaped. Unlike many apples, the Gloster has a strong dull dark red opaque color with a slight blue hue. Its skin feels smooth. If you bite into the greenish-white to greenish-yellow fruit flesh, you will taste a juicy, mild, fine fruity aroma with pleasantly restrained acidity.

Production processes

Everything is organized at Elbe-Obst, starting from planning fruit plantations up to certifying, so that the retailers and finally the consumers receive the best quality apples, pears, cherries, raspberries and strawberries.

Certified Quality

In addition to internal controls of Elbe-Obst, the quality of apples, pears and pome fruit as well as soft fruit are also monitored by external inspection systems such as QS, Kosher certificate, ecological certificates or the regional window.
